Discover the Agri-food and environmental strategies at the heart of Wallonia's S3!
Join us online on April 11th for a unique event organized under the auspices of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union with the presence of several high-level keynote speakers from the European Commission. Learn more about the strategic innovation initiatives in the French part of Belgium, get inspired and the opportunity to book virtual B2B meetings with other participants!
Programme
The online session will take place during the morning and will cover different thematics:
- 9:00: Opening
Speakers: Sophie Bourez – Co-director (Wagralim, the agri-food innovation cluster of Wallonia) and the Minister of Research of Wallonia.
- 9:30: Presentation of Wallonia's new strategic framework for its innovation and industrial policies
Speaker: Vincent Lepage - Director Economic Policy Directorate (Public Service of Wallonia).
- 10:00: Pitches of the 6 strategic innovation initiatives of Wallonia.
- 11:30: European policy and vision of 3 keynote speakers from several Directorate-General of the European Commission (see below).
12:00 : End of the online event, in-person participants will continue the afternoon with inspiring workshops.
High-level keynote speakers
We'll have the honour to greet 3 speakers from the European Commission, along with their areas of specialization:
- Wolfgang Münch- DG Regio - Deputy Head of Unit (Smart and Sustainable Growth). He will focus on territorial innovation strategies, support for innovation under cohesion policy, the Commission's support mechanisms and how to leverage them for cooperation and linking ecosystems.
- Emmanuel Petel- DG AGRI. An expert in soil science and agroecology, he was also the Commission official responsible for the green architecture of the Walloon strategic plan for the CAP. He will establish the links between CAP priorities and the areas of activity of the 6 Walloon IIS included in the S3 strategy.
- Jorge David Molina Villanueva - DG RTD. As an expert on the RIV (Regional Innovation Valeys) program, he will focus on the research and innovation angle, the RTD Food 2030 policy framework and regional innovation valleys for the bioeconomy and food systems.
